Reduce Operational Costs
NVP Energy’s solution reduces operational discharge costs by up to 60% by: – Removing 80% of chemical oxygen demand – Removing 50% of total suspended solids. The Lt-AD generates revenues from the biogas produced as a by-product of the process. The biogas is extremely high in quality at on average 80% Methane (CH4) and is 100% available to be converted to heat and or electricity, as it is not required to heat the process, reducing electricity and fossil fuel operating expense.
Customers are also entitled to claim government incentives once the biogas is utilized for heat and electricity through: – Feed in Tariff’s (FiT) – Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments
Reduce Sludge Production
An additional perk of the Lt-AD technology is that it produces up to 90% less sludge when compared to conventional aerobic treatment often used to treat low strength wastewater, reducing disposal costs.
NVP Energy’s solution offers a very attractive Payback period.
The example describes the solution for a typical Food & Drink plant (e.g. dairy, meat processor, brewery, malting, distilling, bottling facilities etc.) that sends its wastewater to the sewer (i.e. does not have wastewater treatment facilities on-site) and so pays trade effluent discharge costs to water utilities. The example includes 4 reactors to treat 2000m3 of wastewater per day, including balance tank, biogas flare, storage and associated ground works offering a very attractive payback period of 2.5 years.
